Talascend is currently seeking a Gas Turbine Design Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Greenville, South Carolina.
Overview
The Gas Turbine Design Engineer will provide technical support for the design, analysis, and redesign of gas turbine hardware. The role involves working closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and factories to ensure hardware quality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Leverage analytical tools to analyze and deliver solutions for deviant hardware and provide design support to prevent repeat incidents.
- Own hardware redesign efforts by revising drawings to enhance manufacturability.
- Act as technical focal for qualifications of new processes/changes, and second source suppliers.
- Conduct technical reviews of design tasks and help assess risks at the component, assembly, and system levels.
- Follow standard work and design templates for common issues and contribute to the improvement of design and manufacturing processes or methods.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards in design activities, maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Apply basic knowledge of gas turbine design to support improvements in part functionality and cost reduction.
- Foster a positive work environment, supporting a culture of quality and urgency in collaboration with the supply chain team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in gas turbine design or engineering
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
