Talascend is currently seeking a Electrician for a contract opportunity with our client in Richmond, Virginia.
Overview
This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components within a building environment, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. The technician will collaborate with various teams to support electrical operations and customer service needs.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical wiring, control, and lighting systems, including switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, and safety components
- Inspect, repair, and replace electrical components such as wiring, fixtures, transformers, and circuit breakers
- Perform general electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical systems and panels
- Document and report service work, inspections, and system modifications using CMMS systems and digital reporting tools
- Follow the National Electrical Code, building regulations, and safety procedures during installations and repairs
- Conduct circuit breaker corrective maintenance and assist with infrared scans
- Leverage AI tools to optimize work efficiency, diagnose issues, and prioritize service requests
- Work effectively with facility managers, engineers, HVAC technicians, contractors, and vendors to complete projects within budget and schedule
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and addressing client concerns professionally
- Participate in safety training and adhere to OSHA standards and safety protocols
- Support energy management initiatives and participate in scheduled on-call rotations for emergency service calls
- Support special projects, system upgrades, and ongoing training to stay current with industry technologies
Qualifications
- Virginia electrician license
- Successful completion of an electrician apprenticeship program
- 4+ years of electrical contracting experience
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Experience using CMMS or other work order management systems
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Good understanding of electrical theory and ability to interpret drawings, diagrams, and schematics
- Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds, sit, stand, kneel, climb, and work on ladders
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in team environments
- Comfort with digital tools, AI-enhanced diagnostic systems, and new technologies
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and urgent requests
Preferred Qualifications
- Track record of delivering exceptional customer service
- Familiarity with building automation systems and energy management platforms
- Experience using AI tools or digital technologies to enhance efficiency and system performance
- Shift: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
