Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Overview
This role involves operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across multiple sites. The technician will demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC and other building systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility to maintain standards.
- Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper function of equipment and systems.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
- Conduct maintenance of equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Record readings and make adjustments as necessary to ensure equipment operates correctly.
- Ensure safety protocols for hazardous materials and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
- Perform periodic checks of tools and inventory.
- Monitor the quality and cost of work performed by outside contractors.
- Follow all safety procedures and recognize hazards, proposing methods to eliminate them.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- EPA 608 Type II Certification
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
