Talascend is currently seeking an Electrician for a contract opportunity with our client in Greer, South Carolina.

Overview

The main function of an electrician is to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. A typical electrician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, or repairing electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and bend wired and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
  • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment, using hand tools.
  • Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools.
  • Replace light bulbs, ballasts, drivers, and LED diodes.
  • Work proficiently with 12V-480V.
  • Troubleshoot control panels for HVAC, plumbing, and lighting.
  • Program lighting control panels.
  • Clean and maintain equipment exteriors and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct visual inspections and report abnormalities to supervisor.
  • Apply simple sealants and caulking for minor repairs.
  • Replace cabinet hardware, door stops, and similar basic components.
  • Unclog drains using manual tools (plungers, hand augers).
  • Replace washers and aerators in faucets and fixtures.
  • Collect and properly dispose of maintenance debris.
  • Maintain organized supply closets and tool carts.
  • Document completed tasks in maintenance logs.
  • Perform basic grounds maintenance (sweeping, debris removal).
  • Check and refill fluid levels on designated equipment.
  • Place containment devices (buckets, absorbent materials) during emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years experience required.

Requirements

  • Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Ability to use Megger.
  • Ability to trace and diagnose wiring issues.
  • Ability to read and follow diagrams and plans.

Shift

1st shift, Monday to Friday
