Facilities Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Overview
This role involves operating and maintaining HVAC equipment such as cooling towers, boilers, pumps, RTUs, air handlers, among other tasks. it requires performing repairs to plumbing, drywall, masonry, asphalt, gates, and HVAC systems while providing high-quality customer service and ensuring key performance indicators are met.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the chief engineer
- Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility, mechanical, electrical systems, equipment, and other components
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, building interior and exterior, related grounds, fire life safety systems, and generators
- Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions affecting client occupancy and operations
- Respond effectively to all emergencies
- Perform rounds and report deficiencies to the chief engineer
- Adhere to safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and recognize hazards
- Ensure compliance with state, county, or city ordinances, codes, or laws
- Support after-hours building-related activities as needed
- Attend periodic training seminars
- Perform other operational tasks typical of the mobile engineer role
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repair and maintenance
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and climb ladders up to 30 ft.
- Ability to perform on-call duties and overtime as required
- Industrial and commercial experience is a must-have
- Experience in preventative maintenance
- Knowledge of overall MEP/HVAC system design and application
- Experience managing work orders using CMMS technology
- Experience working in a facilities service role
- Experience performing carpentry work
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
