Talascend is currently seeking an Assistant Construction Manager for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Dallas, Texas.

Overview

The Assistant Construction Manager will support the Construction Project Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, and/or the Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) Project Manager or Program Manager in managing project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, proposals, estimates, documentation, turnover, client interface, field-based activities, and other duties required to execute EPC projects, construction management, and program management ventures. The role involves working on diverse projects across industries including aviation, commercial building, electrical transmission & distribution, facility, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, process, and water.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing project safety, quality, schedule, cost, and documentation to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate and support project risk reviews, permits, and procurement processes.
  • Support development and implementation of project plans including safety, quality, staffing, and procurement.
  • Participate in negotiations and execution of contracts, change orders, and claims mitigation.
  • Assist in project setup, mobilization, and demobilization activities.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Support field activities including materials management, onsite safety, and quality assurance.
  • Verify subcontractor and client contractor compliance with project requirements.
  • Contribute to project closeout and turnover documentation process.
  • Assist in maintaining overall project compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Support staffing, labor management, and equipment inventory activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in construction, construction management, engineering, or a related field, and 3 years relevant construction experience required; applicable experience may substitute degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling large workloads and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Must meet company's driving requirements.
