Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Financial Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Santa Ana, California.

Overview

The logistics financial analyst provides analytical and operational support to supply chain planning and warehousing/transportation operations departments. This role focuses on monitoring logistics spend, analyzing key performance indicators, and identifying cost-saving opportunities to optimize logistics costs through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly logistics expense reports, focusing on freight and warehouse costs
  • Assist in the preparation of annual logistics budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and analyze variances impacting logistics costs
  • Perform variance analysis comparing actual logistics spend to forecasts and previous periods
  • Maintain and update financial models used for logistics cost forecasting and simulation
  • Extract and organize data from ERP systems and TMS/WMS
  • Ensure the integrity of logistics financial data for executive reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or supply chain management
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting, cost accounting, logistics, or related field
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, basic macros)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI) is a plus
  • Exposure to ERP systems or logistics/TMS/WMS software
  • Problem solving and analysis skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively
  • Proficiency in Korean language is preferred
