Logistics Coordinator
Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Santa Ana, California.
Overview
The role involves coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments, ensuring production schedules are met and operational efficiency is maintained.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze operational and financial indexes regularly.
- Find root causes for discrepancies between actual performance and forecasts.
- Analyze issues and prepare reports or recommendations as requested by team leaders or department heads.
- Investigate claim requests to determine their validity.
- Communicate with vendors to recover on claims.
- Gather and analyze claims-related documentation.
- Support the preparation of ad-hoc reports.
- Examine documents, materials, and products to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards.
- Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and material requirements.
- Record production data, including volume, raw materials consumption, and quality control.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies.
- Revise production schedules in response to design changes, shortages, or other interruptions.
- Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or similar.
- 1-3 years of experience in planning, risk management, or finance within a logistics environment (preferred).
- Experience with SAP and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work flexibly in a dynamic environment.
- Previous experience with supply chain management, enterprise planning, or financial planning systems is highly desired.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a team to meet project goals.
- Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
