Talascend is currently seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer for a contract opportunity with our client in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Overview

We are looking for a senior application developer skilled in ServiceNow platform development to design, develop, and support custom applications and enhancements. The role involves working closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver secure and high-quality solutions that meet enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom ServiceNow applications using scoped applications and platform features
  • Configure and customize ServiceNow modules with Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Flow Designer
  • Develop server-side and client-side logic using JavaScript and ServiceNow APIs
  • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow best practices for performance, security, and maintainability
  • Perform unit testing, support integration and user acceptance testing (UAT), and resolve defects
  • Support platform upgrades, patching, and regression testing activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and platform issues
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and configuration details
  • Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews and technical design discussions

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing applications on the ServiceNow platform
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, APIs)
  • 2+ years experience developing scoped applications and using ServiceNow Studio
  • Solid understanding of ServiceNow data model, security model, and access controls
  • Experience working with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, HR, or custom applications
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and design effective technical solutions
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, Integration related CIS)
  • Experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, or REST/SOAP integrations
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps delivery environments
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs
  • Initiative-taking and problem-solving abilities
  • Results-oriented and data-driven decision making
  • Adaptability to evolving organizational needs and processes
