Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Wentzville, Missouri.

Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee skilled trades operations in a manufacturing environment, ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment and adherence to safety standards. The role involves supervising team members, managing maintenance activities, and supporting overall plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise UAW skilled trades workers in a manufacturing setting.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor progress on maintenance activities.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Maintain safety standards by promptly responding to alarms and signals.
  • Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems.
  • Manage team performance and address any concerns or conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • One year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal per diem group leader.
  • Experience reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including managing conflict and decision-making.
  • Experience managing and leading people, with the ability to address performance concerns.
  • Demonstrated high analytical ability to solve complex problems.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, email, typing, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to ask questions, take initiative, and be resourceful.
  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, and self-direction.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple functions within a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience supervising employees in a union environment.
  • Knowledge of timekeeping systems.
