Electrical Maintenance Planner
Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Planner for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Calvert, Alabama.
Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing comprehensive work packages to ensure efficient execution of electrical maintenance activities, supporting safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the planning element of the Asset Reliability Process (ARP) through application of accepted planning practices leveraging maintenance work management, professional maintenance organization, processes, and enabling technologies.
- Develop work packages with the required level of detail to achieve effective and efficient scheduling and support maximum effectiveness during execution, including work safety considerations.
- Develop plans that assure minimum cost of repair and maintenance, involving execution resources and subject matter experts in plan development.
- Perform walk-downs of identified work utilizing the ‘Walk-Down’ template.
- Estimate tasks, craft durations, parts, materials, and services based on validated scope using the ‘Estimating’ template.
- Support scheduling and execution of maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate company values of safety, teamwork, accountability, relationships, and sustainability.

- Ensure compliance with quality commitments and promote teamwork based on trust and respect.
- Ensure working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and ISO 17025 standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance activities within a heavy manufacturing environment.
- In-depth experience with SAP CMMS required.
- Working knowledge of SAP-PM and FMEA.
- Experience with maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical engineering drawings.
- Effective technical communication skills with engineers, specialists, contractors, and vendors.
- Experience or knowledge of cold rolling mill operations, including coilers, coil transport, pickling lines, rolling mills, pumps, hydraulic systems, and lubrications is desired.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in industrial or engineering-related programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
