Warehouse Associate
Talascend is currently seeking a Warehouse Associate for a contract opportunity with our client in Maplewood, Minnesota.
Overview
This role involves receiving, processing, and distributing incoming packages, maintaining inventory, preparing shipments, and managing various shipping operations in a fast-paced environment. The position may require occasional travel to a secondary location in Woodbury, MN, and forklift experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, process, and distribute all incoming packages and pallets
- Pick up, process, validate documentation, and hand off outgoing packages to freight suppliers
- Record and label materials
- Maintain inventory using client inventory systems
- Enter Bill of Lading information
- Process desktop shipping labels for outbound shipments
- Process all requests and orders
- Prepare and ship non-regulated packages received daily
- Utilize Trackpad scanners to scan and record all incoming and outgoing packages, troubleshooting equipment and software issues
- Create reports and metrics using Trackpad data analytics
- Identify, sort, and manage pallet inventories for mail, shipping, and receiving operations
- Weigh and record the weight of materials for shipment daily
- Coordinate courier pick-up and delivery, confirming receipt, and resolving related issues
- Manage incoming and outgoing temperature-sensitive shipments
- Deliver or coordinate pickup of packages to customer work areas
- Report defective materials or potential safety issues to supervisors
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to interact effectively with client personnel
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High accuracy in handling sensitive equipment and shipments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, walk up and down stairs, and operate manual pallet jacks
- Ability to detect emergency alarms (auditory and visual)
- Training will be provided depending on role
- Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products preferred but not required
