Talascend is currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.

Overview

The role involves coordinating, shipping, and receiving domestic and international shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process all required documents and transactions for shipping and receiving materials domestically and internationally, including manifests, packing lists, declarations, import licenses, and certifications.
  • Coordinate shipments and deliveries with carriers and forwarding agents, distributing necessary documentation to all relevant parties.
  • Investigate shipment and receipt issues, resolve incoming material problems, and analyze shipping and receiving transactions and documentation.
  • Communicate with the finance team regarding credit hold customers following established procedures.
  • Collaborate with customer service and project managers to expedite items and meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Follow returned goods procedures, communicate receipt of materials, and process returns upon approval.
  • Generate and maintain shipping and receiving reports as required.
  • Expedite and follow critical orders proactively.
  • Ensure data and inventory accuracy within the shipping department.
  • Assist other office personnel as needed and perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in shipping, including international and domestic shipments
  • Experience with SAP software
  • Excel proficiency for at least 2 years
  • Customer service experience for at least 2 years
  • Warehouse shipping and receiving experience; logistics experience is a plus
