Gas Turbine Performance Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Gas Turbine Performance Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
This role supports the Performance & Operability team for gas turbine engines used across commercial and military aerospace platforms. The position requires expertise in steady state and transient physics, including building, debugging, refining, and maintaining NPSS system thermal models.
Responsibilities
- Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady state and transient thermal models using NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation)
- Develop NPSS customer models
- Foster productive knowledge transfer of NPSS modeling techniques
- Perform requirements analysis and requirements decomposition
- Communicate effectively to leadership, customers, and peers including presentations and technical reports
- Work collaboratively across cross-functional disciplines and teams
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, or engineering
- 7 years of experience with turbine engine performance and operability modeling and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
