Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Facility Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Austin, Texas.

Overview

This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment within assigned facilities to ensure efficient and safe operations, minimizing downtime, and performing routine repairs and inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility systems and equipment
  • Inspect interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing, and production equipment
  • Document work performed and update work order status in real time using CMMS systems such as Corrigo
  • Perform facility inspections, report findings, and carry out necessary repairs
  • Maintain a valid state driver’s license and be available for call-in work
  • Drive vans daily to multiple sites located near Austin, Texas

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Universal CFC recovery certification
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and repair and maintenance of production equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration systems
  • Ability to perform inspections, repair, and documentation related to facility operations
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC
