Analytical Scientist
Talascend is currently seeking an Analytical Scientist for a contract opportunity with our client in Piscataway, NJ.
This is a hands-on pharmaceutical lab scientist role in a regulated laboratory environment focused on supporting drug product development, analytical testing, and method development.
You will work in a pharmaceutical R&D and analytical testing lab supporting both formulation development and quality testing, primarily focused on solid oral dosage forms (tablets and capsules) and polymer-based drug delivery materials.
In this role, you will develop, validate, and execute analytical methods using advanced instrumentation to ensure pharmaceutical products meet required quality standards. Work includes data analysis, troubleshooting laboratory methods, and generating technical documentation.
This position operates in a GMP-regulated environment, requiring strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including proper documentation, controlled substance handling, and EHS compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on pharmaceutical samples using HPLC and related instrumentation
- Develop and improve analytical methods
- Conduct dissolution testing and content uniformity analysis
- Analyze data and troubleshoot experimental or instrument issues
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Operate and maintain analytical equipment (FTIR, DSC, microscopy, SEM)
- Support lab safety, GMP compliance, and hazardous waste handling
- Manage controlled substances and maintain DEA-regulated records
Experience
- Pharmaceutical lab experience required
- Strong experience with HPLC
- Experience in method development and/or validation
- Experience in GMP-regulated environments
- Experience with solid oral dosage forms (tablets/capsules) preferred
- Dissolution testing experience preferred
