Talascend is currently seeking a Cost Management Lead for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Lytle, TX.
Overview:
Provide strategic financial leadership, budget control, and forecasting expertise to maximize capital efficiency for the project footprint. This role owns the project budget baseline, manages financial risk models, and delivers transparent financial reporting to Client PMs and executive leadership to prevent budget overruns.

This role owns the project budget baseline, manages financial risk models, and delivers transparent financial reporting to Client PMs and executive leadership to prevent budget overruns.
Responsibilities:
- Baseline Budget Optimization: Establish, track, and manage the project baseline budget, control accounts, and contingencies (Owner Contingency, Design Contingency, and GC Contingency).
- Forecasting & Cash Flow Modeling: Generate accurate monthly financial forecasts, cash-flow projection curves, and Estimated at Completion (EAC) models, proactively flagging variances, cost trends, and potential overruns to the project team.
- Value Engineering & Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost-benefit analyses, independent cost estimates (ICE) for major design revisions, and review GC pricing submittals against market benchmarks to ensure fair value.
- Contingency & Risk Drawdown Tracking: Maintain the project Risk Register from a financial perspective, modeling potential cost impacts and managing the strategic drawdown of project contingencies over the construction timeline.
- Financial Reporting & Dashboarding: Prepare and present executive-level monthly financial report packages, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), commit-versus-spend metrics, and purchase order burn rates.
