Talascend is currently seeking a Project Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Reno, Nevada.

Overview

The role involves managing multiple capital projects, including small facility remodels and asset replacements, with a focus on delivering projects within budget and schedule. The project manager will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support project executives on multiple projects and assignments.
  • Develop scope and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Identify and address potential risks related to projects, logistics, budget, and scope.
  • Coordinate and track all vendor request for proposals (RFPs).
  • Interact and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and update project status reports, process invoices, and maintain project files.
  • Track project performance against schedules and critical paths.
  • Coordinate activities of subcontractors and relocation of technical functions.
  • Ensure safety plans are in place and activities are performed with safety in mind.
  • Assist the local project development team in meeting regional and national margin targets.
  • Proficiently use project development technology for assigned projects.
  • Travel to project locations as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Experience in project management or construction management.
  • Ability to prepare and track budgets.
  • Understanding of technical requirements for construction and renovation projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Familiarity with architectural and engineering drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project experience in biopharma, research, labs, or vivarium environments.
  • LEED, AIA, PE, and/or PMP certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
