Mechanical Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan.
Overview
This role involves working on vehicle disassembly and reassembly processes, focusing on validating and optimizing service procedures through time studies and technical documentation. The technician will collaborate with engineers and support special projects to improve service reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Validate service procedures directly on vehicles.
- Identify and correct errors, suggest optimizations in service procedures.
- Conduct time studies for removal and installation processes.
- Document validations and time studies comprehensively.
- Communicate project status to leadership as needed.
- Undertake special assignments as requested.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, with a preference for a 2-year trade school certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- At least 2 ASE Certifications (any two of A1-A8).
- Proficiency in automotive maintenance, diagnostics, and inspections.
- Ability to conduct detailed time studies and validate service procedures.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, effective communication, teamwork, adaptability, time management, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with service manuals and improving repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Experience collaborating on process improvements and special projects.
The shift for this role is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with some flexibility to start at 7:00 AM. The position is onsite with the possibility to work remotely one day a week after full training is completed. The assignment duration is approximately 52 weeks, with potential for extension. No travel is required and overtime is uncommon.
