Logistics Coordinator
Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator for a contract opportunity with our client in Chickasaw, Alabama.
Overview
This role involves coordinating international shipments, preparing export documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting global logistics operations to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and develop logistics plans affecting production, distribution, and inventory
- Create and review distribution and inventory management procedures
- Maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing costs
- Coordinate shipments and support global logistics operations
- Ensure regulatory compliance for international transportation
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of related experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of transportation modes: ocean (LCL, FCL), air, road, rail, special equipment shipments
- Familiarity with hazardous materials shipping compliance including IATA, IMDG, DOT
- Experience preparing international shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and export declarations
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to prioritize and work with urgency
- Comfortable presenting to senior leadership
- Strong accountability and responsiveness
- Decision-making skills in uncertain situations
