Electrical Hardware Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
Overview
This role involves supporting the design, development, and testing of aviation security hardware systems, including X-Ray, CT, and related technologies. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative hardware solutions for new product development and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with new design and development for various aviation security systems including X-Ray, CT, and other technologies.
- Work with cross-functional teams from supply chain, production, and service to support projects and products.
- Write specifications, make design recommendations, and create design boards including schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Develop system wiring and other technical deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience designing and developing innovative technical hardware solutions for new products.
- Experience in high-speed digital design, FPGA development, embedded system designs, and electronic systems creation.
- Proficiency in high-speed FPGA design utilizing VHDL, understanding of clock boundary conditions, and asynchronous data collection.
- Experience with data acquisition hardware, FPGAs, finite-state machines, and signal integrity techniques.
- Knowledge of MCU design, third-party instantiation within FPGAs, and hardware debugging with scopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout, high-speed routing, LVDS, and channel link.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
