Talascend is currently seeking a Material Control Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Vista, California.

Overview

The role involves managing materials within a warehouse environment, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials, maintaining inventory records, and operating material handling equipment to support production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials for the production floor
  • Store materials in designated locations
  • Pick and pack materials for shipment
  • Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment
  • Maintain accurate inventory records
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Working conditions include working in a warehouse and outside areas, which may involve exposure to dust, noise, and environmental factors. The position may require standing, walking, lifting for extended periods, and working overtime or weekends as needed.
