Warehouse Shipping Clerk
Talascend is currently seeking a Warehouse Shipping Clerk for a contract opportunity with our client in Vista, California.
Overview
The role involves performing manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties, utilizing computer systems for tracking, verifying, and reporting, and handling various shipping tasks including packaging, verification, and routing of materials. The position may also include operating a forklift and preparing goods for final shipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties
- Use computer systems to track, log, verify, and report shipping activities
- Receive incoming materials and prepare materials for shipment
- Unpack or wrap items such as finished products, raw stock, and equipment
- Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to identification
- Log receipt of items, process freight bills, packing sheets, and documents
- Report materials shipped, bills of lading, weight, and shipping charges
- Route merchandise to destinations
- Operate forklift and prepare goods for shipping as needed
- Maintain shipping records and files
- Interact with supervisors, peers, and external/internal customers daily
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of related experience
- Some knowledge and experience in shipping and receiving procedures
- Ability to handle unusual job events with some judgment and experience
- Above-average communication skills
