Technical Writer
Talascend is currently seeking a Technical Writer for a contract opportunity with our client in Clawson, Michigan.
Overview
This role involves creating time studies for published mechanical service procedures, working closely with the Mechanical Service Information Development team and validation technicians to ensure procedures are valid, optimized, and time studied. Automotive knowledge and collaboration are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Create and develop time studies for mechanical service procedures
- Collaborate with the Mechanical Service Information Development team and validation/labor time technicians
- Utilize automotive knowledge and multiple source files to identify content for publications
- Support labor time guide projects impacted by service procedures
- Conform to security policies and maintain data integrity
- Respond to information requests professionally
- Report project progress to leadership accurately
- Support meetings and coordination activities as needed
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent technical experience
- 3-5 years of automotive technician experience preferred
- Experience working on vehicles, including engine, transmission, and overall vehicle systems
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties related to automotive service and technical writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive service information writing
