Porter

Talascend is currently seeking a Porter for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.

Overview

This role involves inspecting vehicles upon arrival, reporting issues, preparing them for shipment, and supporting material control activities within a manufacturing environment. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Receive vehicles at the time they are being dropped off and perform inspections
• Report any issues found during vehicle inspections
• Wash and prep vehicles for production
• Prepare completed vehicles for shipment and interact with truck drivers for handoff procedures
• Support the material control team by pulling materials from storage and organizing them for production
• Support general shop activities when vehicle movement is not required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Good organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Self-starter and self-motivated individual
• Ability to work in a team environment and learn new tasks
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Willingness and ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Basic computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
• Chauffeur license
• Previous material control experience
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Livonia, Michigan. Candidates should be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions and support shop activities as needed.
