Facilities Manager
Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Overview
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of assigned facilities, providing leadership to a skilled team, and ensuring the delivery of facilities management services in a professional office and manufacturing environment. The role involves managing vendor relationships, maintaining site performance, and aligning operations with client and company goals.
Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with the regional facilities manager to develop and execute the overall vision of the facilities team.
- Assist in the strategic direction for operations and maintenance teams in line with client goals.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and participate in training program development to enhance team capabilities.
- Oversee operational aspects of the property to protect, maintain, and improve site value.
- Inspect sites regularly to ensure quality standards, monitor and review preventive maintenance programs, and drive continuous performance improvements.
- Manage third-party contractors and vendors engaged in site operations and maintenance.
- Coordinate bidding and contracting for maintenance and project services with relevant stakeholders.
- Transform operational practices by leveraging company tools and best practices for effective service delivery.
- Maintain sites using service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis of failures.
- Develop and maintain operating budgets, meet cost targets, and analyze variances.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and manage capital improvement projects.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring service delivery meets expectations.
- Act as a leader and ambassador, embodying core values of teamwork, ethics, and excellence.
- Establish a safety-first culture, promote safe work practices, and coordinate training and recognition programs.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee career development and diversity initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of five to eight years of facilities management experience.
- Strong technical background in industrial settings and managing facilities teams.
- Experience managing 24/7 operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior client relationship management skills.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to plan and manage budgets and schedules.
- Familiarity with building systems and CMMS systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative management style.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing facilities in manufacturing environments.
- Technical knowledge of facilities equipment and basic hands-on skills.
