Engineering Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Engineering Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Milford, Michigan.
Overview
The engineering technician analyst provides technical support on engineering projects by obtaining and inspecting hardware, managing data, and assisting teams in overcoming project obstacles. They play a key role in documenting technical details and coordinating reviews to ensure project progress.
Responsibilities
- Obtain blueprints, math data, PDMs, and other graphical information with varying levels of guidance
- Inspect and compare physical hardware to graphical information, noting discrepancies and potential causes
- Extract specific data from databases, organize data by designated characteristics, and report in specified formats
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate technical reviews of issues, drawings, parts, and vehicles
- Document technical discussions, action plans, and assignments
- Monitor and report the status of projects and assignments
- Compile cost and performance comparison data
- Convert data into standard specification documents and formats
- Identify data and analysis methods required to present issues or solutions
- Participate in designing and implementing action plans
- Identify ways to improve vehicle development processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related technical field
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Ability to identify relevant drawings, layouts, and graphic illustrations for issue investigation
- Understanding of vehicle architecture and component interactions
- Experience creating, filing, and retrieving data from electronic databases
- Strong knowledge of data processing techniques and applications
- Ability to develop work plans and identify necessary information and analysis methods
- Experience as an auto mechanic or technician
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency in utilizing information and processes to resolve issues
