Talascend is currently seeking a QC Microbiology Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Overview
This entry-level position is responsible for microbiological testing and environmental monitoring within the microbiology department. The role involves maintaining controlled areas, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs bioburden, bacterial endotoxin testing, and sterility testing.
- Performs viable and non-viable environmental monitoring.
- Reads and interprets environmental monitoring results.
- Operates non-viable particle counters and facility monitoring systems.
- Performs computer data entry using programs such as Microsoft Excel and MODA.
- Maintains accurate records of environmental data and testing results.
- Performs sanitation for testing hoods and enclosures.
- Prepares supplies for sterilization (autoclave) and depyrogenation.
- Assists in stocking and supplying the microbiology laboratory.
- Works around radiation with proper training and safety materials provided.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in sciences (preferred biological sciences), or working experience in manufacturing or laboratory setting.
- Ability to speak, understand, read, and write in the local language.
- Ability to lift 25lbs.
- Minimal experience required; entry level position.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
