Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Overview
This role involves planning, engineering, and designing electric and gas distribution systems, focusing on balancing economic, environmental, social, and regulatory constraints while ensuring reliability. The engineer will work independently to achieve objectives with a significant impact on operational results or project deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Develop work packages for overhead, underground residential distribution, and underground cable/conduit projects.
- Conduct field engineering of project requirements, including identification of conflicting utilities.
- Perform engineering and design calculations.
- Oversee post-construction reviews.
- Collaborate with internal experts to develop technical solutions, analyze impacts, and ensure project success.
- Communicate effectively with internal and client project team members, influencing team decisions regarding design and process approaches.
- Mentor and review the work of lower-level technical staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 4 to 8 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 2 to 6 years of relevant experience.
- Deep understanding of principles, theories, and concepts of the technical domain.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop technical solutions for complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration and influence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project development in utility distribution systems.
- Experience working independently on projects with significant impact.
