Industrial Unloading Operator

Talascend is currently seeking an Industrial Unloading Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Theodore, Alabama.

Overview

This role involves safely unloading raw materials at an industrial site, ensuring safety compliance, operating unloading equipment, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position requires working daytime hours on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently unload raw materials from railcars and tanker trucks, following proper procedures.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including PPE use and safety training participation.
• Operate unloading equipment such as hoses, pumps, valves, and perform routine checks.
• Accurately complete paperwork and logs related to unloading activities.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and address issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with housekeeping standards.
• Participate in emergency response drills and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a chemical or industrial environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to workplace safety and following safety protocols.
• Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand instructions, safety guidelines, and operational procedures; basic verbal communication skills.
• Other Requirements: Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
