Talascend is currently seeking an Unloading Equipment Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Theodore, Alabama.
Overview
This role involves safely and efficiently unloading raw materials from railcars and tanker trucks, ensuring safety compliance and proper documentation. The position requires working outdoors in a dynamic industrial environment with a focus on teamwork and safety.
Responsibilities
- Safely unload raw materials from railcars and tanker trucks while following proper handling and storage procedures.
- Adhere to all site and unit safety regulations, including PPE usage and safety training participation.
- Operate unloading equipment and perform routine checks on machinery.
- Complete required paperwork and logs, tracking quantities and labeling materials accurately.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues during unloading activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with site standards.
- Participate in emergency response drills and procedures as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations and workflow.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a chemical plant or industrial environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions, safety guidelines, and operational procedures, with basic verbal communication skills.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.

Shift
