Talascend is currently seeking a Laboratory Inventory Coordinator for an opportunity in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Overview
The laboratory inventory coordinator is responsible for managing lab consumable inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained, and facilitating accurate documentation of materials within a biologics laboratory environment. The role involves maintaining stockrooms, ensuring proper labelling, and supporting laboratory operations through inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and check incoming materials, samples, and supplies for appropriate labelling and documentation.
- Store materials in designated areas following proper procedures and guidelines.
- Retrieve and prepare materials for production as requested.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Organize and maintain the materials within each stockroom for lab use.
- Communicate timelines for delivery, follow up with individuals on product orders, and escalate as needed.
- Accurately document the chain of custody for all materials, including date, time, and personnel involved.
- Ensure materials are stored in appropriate designated areas, ensuring proper labelling and segregation.
- Create and maintain accurate inventory records and complete regular cycle counts.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on procedures and regulations.
- Work overtime or temporarily adjust shift schedule as needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a warehouse or laboratory setting preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow strict procedures and regulations.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
