Talascend is currently seeking an ES&H Technical Analyst for a contract opportunity with our client in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Overview
The ES&H Technical Analyst supports environmental, safety, and health functions on a major mining project, analyzing data and assisting in the development of improvement initiatives to promote incident prevention, learning, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance in environmental, safety, and health disciplines to facilitate implementation of ES&H programs and management systems
- Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs, systems, and procedures for employee safety and environmental protection
- Maintains ES&H databases, including incident reports, audit findings, and corrective actions
- Performs statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and contribute to continuous improvement
- Supports software systems and electronic tools used by ES&H personnel
- Leads teams in conducting risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring ES&H issues
- Prepares communications, reports, and program documentation
- Assists with incident investigations and reports
- Recommends and implements process improvements to reduce hazards
- Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs
- Researches compliance issues and provides technical regulatory guidance
- Supports ES&H field and office personnel across disciplines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent
- 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Technical knowledge of computer-based training development software
- Technical knowledge of Adobe Suite, SharePoint, FrontPage, Flash, and related web and artwork design packages
- Knowledge of learning and development systems, ES&H applications, and process improvement methods
- Understanding of industry and regulatory standards related to ES&H
- Strong oral and written communication skills for preparing reports and correspondence
- Familiarity with environmental, safety, and health processes and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties through relevant experience, training, or education
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ES&H systems and standards (preferred for internal or former candidates)
