Talascend is currently seeking an ES&H Field Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Overview
This role involves providing technical oversight of the project’s environmental, safety, and health compliance activities through inspection of project field activities. It includes assisting management in ensuring safety requirements are met and addressing ES&H issues during project execution.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate a wide variety of ES&H disciplines to facilitate implementation of safety and environmental programs
- Deliver toolbox talks and participate in site meetings to advise on safety requirements
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental procedures
- Maintain ES&H databases, including incident records and assessment findings
- Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and recommend improvements
- Identify and coordinate software systems and electronic tools used by ES&H personnel
- Lead teams in conducting risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring
- Prepare communications, reports, and documentation for program execution and records retention
- Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident reports
- Recommend and implement process, procedure, and activity improvements to minimize hazards
- Participate in and potentially lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs
- Coordinate ES&H recognition programs
- Research issues, provide regulatory interpretation, and offer technical advice
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to environmental, safety, health, or science-related discipline (or international equivalent)
- 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 required
- Understanding of ES&H processes and procedures (preferred)
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and conduct incident investigations
- Experience leading or managing ES&H assessments and inspections during construction
- Experience providing technical oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants
- Ability to coach teams and train personnel on safety processes and expectations
- Knowledge of safety programs, principles, and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ES&H core processes (preferred)
- Experience with safety programs/engineering systems and best practices for minimizing risks during project execution
Shift
This position is based on a 57-hour work week with a 5% project allowance and 5% project completion incentive, with 3 weeks on and 1 week off camp status. Mobilization and demobilization, as well as travel home, are covered.
