Talascend is currently seeking an Environmental Safety and Health Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Overview
This role involves providing technical oversight of the project’s environmental, safety, and health compliance activities through inspection of field execution. The specialist will assist in implementing safety requirements and addressing ES&H issues during project execution.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate a wide variety of environmental, safety, and health disciplines to facilitate implementation of the ES&H program and management system.
- Deliver toolbox talks and participate in site meetings to advise teams on safety requirements.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs, systems, and procedures for employee safety and environmental protection.
- Maintain ES&H databases, including incident events, audits, assessments, and corrective actions.
- Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and suggest improvements.
- Prepare communications, reports, and documentation for program execution and record keeping.
- Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident reports.
- Participate in and lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
- Coordinate ES&H recognition programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent)
- 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910
- Understanding of ES&H core processes (preferred)
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for incident investigations
- Experience with ES&H assessments and inspections during construction
- Experience managing or providing oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants
