Talascend is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Bedford, Indiana.
Overview
This role involves supervising and coordinating production teams in a manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met across multiple shifts.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate approximately 20–25 production employees supported by two team leaders.
- Oversee staffing, safety, production, quality, equipment performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assign work, monitor production and downtime, resolve operational and employee issues, and maintain records.
- Coach team members and support a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Arrive 30 minutes before shifts to review staffing and equipment status, and support shift handoffs.
- Maintain a strong floor presence throughout the shift, addressing safety and operational issues.
- Support continuous improvement activities using client and other tools.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Five years of relevant manufacturing or industrial experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, time management, and basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment preferred.
