Talascend is currently seeking a CNC Programmer for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
This role involves programming CNC machines, specifically for aerospace components, utilizing NX programming software, and creating workholding fixtures. The position is on-site and requires working with aluminum aerospace parts, optimizing machining processes, and supporting manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Create NC programs for aerospace components, maximizing efficiency based on material, geometry, workholding, and equipment utilization.
- Analyze component specifications to determine the necessary parts and tools.
- Design workholding fixtures and select appropriate cutting tools for aerospace machining processes.
- Program three, four, and five axes mills.
- Work under immediate supervision, following established guidelines and instructions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in CNC programming or a related area.
- Experience programming three, four, and five axes mills.
- Proficiency in NX programming software.
- Experience machining aluminum aerospace parts.
- Ability to create workholding fixtures and select cutting tools effectively.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in manufacturing.
- Relies on instructions and guidelines; works under immediate supervision.
