Talascend is currently seeking a CNC Machining Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
This role involves setting up and operating CNC mills, primarily focusing on aluminum materials with some stainless steel and titanium. The position requires precision in machining and inspection to meet tight tolerances at high RPMs.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills according to established procedures and guidelines
- Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery
- Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate completion of tasks based on specifications and timeline
- Perform first article inspections and ensure quality standards are met
- Work with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium
- Handle larger lifting requirements and operate in environments with physical risks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal training or apprenticeship preferred
- 2-4 years of experience with CNC mills, including setting up and running production
- Experience with Ikegai TU15 lathe equipment
- Knowledge of tolerances such as .0002 on bore and runout for high-speed rotating assemblies
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
