Talascend is currently seeking a Metrology Laboratory Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in St. Joseph, Michigan.
Overview
The metrology laboratory technician will conduct equipment calibrations and metrological analyses to support laboratory teams. This role is performed onsite five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Perform calibration services and complete the respective technical records.
- Check, sign and issue test reports resulting from services performed.
- Utilize technical procedures, measurement uncertainty calculation spreadsheets and other quality documents related to assigned activities.
- Handle, store and maintain the integrity of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Coordinate third parties involved in outsourced laboratory testing activities.
- Control and record the receipt of laboratory supplies and materials.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Exposure to a laboratory environment, such as a school chemistry or biology laboratory.
- Six months of customer-facing experience, such as sales associate, wait staff or order fulfillment experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of metrological laboratory, technician or similar experience.
- Understanding of statistical techniques for data analysis.
- Understanding of the interpretation and application of the current ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
- Experience testing or repairing equipment, especially laboratory equipment.
- Experience communicating results with recommendations.
- Continuous improvement and 5S mindset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with personal computers.
