Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across multiple systems and facilities. The role requires technical expertise in at least one craft area such as electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations, with the ability to be multi-skilled in other areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper operation of all systems.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general upkeep.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC system performance.
  • Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure equipment functions correctly.
  • Ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform periodic checks of tools and instruments inventory.
  • Monitor the quality and cost of work performed by outside contractors.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping practices, recognizing and eliminating hazards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
  • Ability to analyze the operation of various commercial or industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and determine corrective actions
  • EPA 608 Type II certification
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A professional engineer (P.Eng) license is not required

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification
  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
