Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile HVAC and Facility Technician for a W-2 contract opportunity with our client in Reston, Virginia.

Overview

The main function of a mobile engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple locations. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area such as HVAC, electrical, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations while being multi-skilled in others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitor repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility to ensure standards are met.
  • Travel between multiple facilities to ensure their proper function.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general upkeep.
  • Maintain equipment through cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to optimize HVAC systems and related equipment performance.
  • Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance performed by outside contractors.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, identify hazards, and propose methods to eliminate them.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze the operation of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and take corrective action.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
