Boiler Room Operator
Talascend is currently seeking a Boiler Room Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Portage, Michigan.
Overview
As a Boiler Room Operator, you will monitor and operate key facility systems and equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performance environment operations through preventative and corrective maintenance of boiler equipment and related systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate boiler and utility system equipment
- Make necessary adjustments to main plant equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment and respond to building automation or alarm systems
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance
- Conduct chemical analysis to optimize system performance
- Complete corrective maintenance as needed
- Answer boiler room and facilities department phones and dispatch personnel
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, calls, and operational logs
- Research and order supplies as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned areas
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3-5 years of related facilities or boiler room experience
- Class 4 NIULPE power engineers license
- Working knowledge of boiler systems and operations
- Ability to operate and understand diagnostic and computer equipment
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks
- Availability for variable shifts under close supervision
