Facilities Technician

Talascend is currently seeking an Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in El Paso, Texas.

Overview

This role is responsible for the operational management and effective daily leadership of the engineering team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of machinery and building systems to achieve 100% uptime and protect the client's assets.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other mechanical and electrical systems; review logs and perform preventive and repair tasks as needed
• Oversee repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems and ensure the availability of tools and supplies by managing purchase orders and inventory levels
• Manage contractors working within the building, ensuring safety and compliance standards are met
• Identify safety hazards and implement remediation measures to maintain a safe environment; administer safety training programs
• Maintain up-to-date infrastructure, compliance documentation, building drawings, and ensure regulatory adherence
• Provide training on maintenance procedures, safety, troubleshooting, and foster professionalism within the team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility-related work experience, including customer service, leadership, and supervision
• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes and construction planning and execution
• Experience with HVAC, fluid handling and pumping, mechanical systems, welding, electrical systems engineering and operation
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs (or within 90 days of employment)
• Valid HVAC and EPA certifications
• Valid electrical certifications
