Industrial Sewing Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Industrial Sewing Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.
Overview
The industrial sewing technician will operate and maintain industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality sewn products, ensuring adherence to company standards and project specifications. The role involves collaborating with team members and performing independent project tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sewing machines and related parts, including pattern plates, needles, presser feet, automatic cutting tools, and blades.
- Read and interpret work orders and adjust machines and materials accordingly, including selecting fabric, thread, and needles, and mounting necessary attachments.
- Inspect and repair finished products as needed and make machine adjustments to address errors or quality issues.
- Record materials used, maintenance performed, and number of pieces completed during each shift, maintaining accuracy within target ranges.
- Attach elastic, cord, zippers, hooks, buttons, and other trimmings to sewn pieces following work order instructions and diagrams.
- Troubleshoot basic machinery problems and request service or repairs as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of industrial sewing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Experience working with Juki sewing machines.
