Talascend is currently seeking a Financial Data Analyst for a contract opportunity with our client in Plano, Texas.

Overview

This role involves analyzing financial data, generating reports, and providing insights to support business decision-making within a retail environment. The analyst will handle reconciliation, financial reporting, and data analysis responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze actual operating results and interpret data, presenting results to management
  • Respond to budget-related requests for financial data
  • Reconcile promotional claims and point-of-sale activity
  • Research payment reconciliation issues arising from audits, exception reports, or remittance changes
  • Generate reports to validate payments and resolve discrepancies and variances
  • Reconcile carrier commissions against in-store reporting to ensure timely and accurate payment
  • Handle finance and reporting duties, including financial data analytics
  • Deliver reporting and analytics to key business stakeholders using appropriate data to create actionable spending plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of related experience
  • Prior experience in retail operations preferred
  • Must have accounting experience utilizing SAP R/3 software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
