Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to preserve the physical assets of the building, systems, and equipment under the direction of facility and operations managers. The role involves general building repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety and operational standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Manage work orders, inventory, and parts supplies.
- Handle plumbing, HVAC/R, temperature and pressure control, and safety related objectives.
- Assist with building automation and monitoring systems.
- Participate in safety training and compliance activities.
- Respond to immediate work orders and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Perform general building repairs, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance duties.
- Set up conference rooms and handle customer requests as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, including plumbing and electrical.
- Completion of a technical training program is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Physical ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift (minimum 80 lbs.), and work from heights, including ladders up to 30 ft.
