Accounts Receivable Specialist
Talascend is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Santa Ana, California.
Overview
The accounts receivable specialist will manage customer accounts, oversee collection efforts, and support internal and external audits to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. The role involves detailed analysis, reporting, and collaboration with various departments to support financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee customer accounts receivable and pursue collection efforts, including contacting customers via phone or email and providing backup documentation such as invoice copies and warranty information
- Manage the accounts receivable confirmations process and assist with audit activities
- Follow up on delinquent accounts by contacting customers, communicating with collection agencies, and providing necessary information to facilitate collections
- Generate reports and support initiatives for stakeholders such as credit, sales, and accounting management
- Handle payment processing, adjustments, and clearing suspense accounts
- Analyze accounts data and prepare documentation for credit or debit memos according to policy
- Lead ad hoc projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete assigned tasks independently
- Support the finance team as a team lead, contributing to training and task delegation within the team
Qualifications
- Associates degree in accounting, business administration, or related financial discipline
- 5+ years of accounts receivable, credit, and/or collections experience in a high-volume B2B environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in SAP required
- Strong accounting understanding and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to calculate, post, and manage financial records accurately
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with all organizational levels and external contacts
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
