Talascend is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Glendale, Arizona.

Overview

This role involves supporting the Air Revitalization Systems team by contributing to the design, build, integration, and qualification of a new product utilizing advanced technology. The Systems Engineer will lead activities across requirements development, system architecture, verification and validation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level development throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through qualification
  • Develop, decompose, and maintain system requirements using IBM DOORS/DOORS Next
  • Define and execute verification and validation strategies, including test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure requirements traceability and compliance with applicable MIL-STD documents and customer specifications
  • Support system architecture definition, interface development, and system modeling activities
  • Lead system integration and verification efforts in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Partner with scientists and engineering experts to translate emerging technology into validated system performance
  • Provide technical leadership, guide junior engineers, and support design reviews
  • Generate engineering documentation, perform trade studies, and present findings to internal teams and customers
  • Ensure adherence to processes, engineering rigor, and configuration control

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, or related technical field
  • Proven experience developing or executing verification and validation plans and system test strategies
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS/DOORS Next
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD standards and applying them to system design, qualification, and component selection
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working in cross-functional engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills for effective interfacing with scientists and engineering specialists
