Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Talascend is currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
This role involves confirming and recording the receipt of shipments, preparing items for shipping, and handling the loading and unloading of trucks. The position requires managing shipping documentation, reporting damages and discrepancies, and coordinating inter-departmental transport of materials.
Responsibilities
- Confirm and record the receipt of shipments
- Prepare items for shipping and load/unload trucks
- Report damages and discrepancies for accounting and record-keeping
- Complete shipping and receiving reports
- Manage inter-departmental transport of materials
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of experience in shipping or related fields
- Familiarity with shipping procedures, packing, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Reliance on extensive experience and judgment to meet goals
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks with creativity and latitude
