Talascend is currently seeking a HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

Overview

This role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and operations for commercial HVAC systems. It includes on-call responsibilities, safety practices, and training duties to ensure optimal building system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, air handlers, automation/control systems, and associated electrical and pneumatic systems using industry-standard tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems to maintain peak operational condition.
  • Evaluate, train, teach, and coach Lead Engineers, Facility Engineers, and Maintenance Technicians as requested by supervisors.
  • Follow comprehensive safety practices, especially regarding energized work, working at heights, and confined spaces, and recognize, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • Participate in on-call duties every 4 weeks, with schedules shifting based on staffing levels, including weekends.
  • Utilize proper PPE and adhere to all relevant codes, laws, and regulations during work activities.
  • Support the potential transition to full-time employment after 3 months, with a possibility of converting to an employee with benefits.
  • Perform any other duties and tasks assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with commercial HVAC systems.
  • Hands-on skills and knowledge of HVAC repair, maintenance, and industry-standard tools.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, OSHA standards, and proper PPE usage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with chillers, automation systems, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Training or certification in HVAC systems or related fields.
